STUDY SKILLS SUPPORT
Because success in school takes more than just knowing content.
Most students aren’t struggling because they’re not smart. They’re struggling because no has ever taught then how to study.
Our program is designed to change that.
In every session, students learn more than jsut math or science, they build real study skills they can carry into every class, every test, and every part of their education.

What Are Study Skills?
“Study skills” aren’t just about flashcards and highlighters. They include things like:
The problem? These skills aren’t taught in school, and many tutoring programs focus only on content, not the strategies that teach students how to study with purpose and efficiency.
How We Integrate Study Skills Into Every Session
Unlike traditional tutoring, our sessions aren’t just about getting the right answer. They’re built around thinking, strategy, and self-awareness. Here’s how study skills show up in every part of our study groups.
Reflection & Self-Awarness
Students are regularly invited to reflect on what’s working, what’s challenging, and how they’re approaching their learning. This builds self-awareness and emotional safety, helping them feel seen, supported, and capable of growing over time.
Retrieval & Recall Practice
Instead of jumping straight into explanation, we help students activate what they already know. Its a process that strengthens memory, deepens understanding, and highlights gaps that need attention.
Collaborative Problem-Solving
Students don’t just get shown how to solve a problem, they work through it tehmselves, alongside peers with guidance from a facilitator. They test out ideas, make mistakes, and learn by doing which builds critical thinking, confidence, and adaptability.
Strategic Thinking
Once a problem is solved, we don’t just move on. We take time to unpack the method: Why did this work? When would it work again? How can I recognize this next time? This helsp students understand the logic behind the solution, not to just memorize steps.
Goal-Setting & Learning Ownership
Students are involved in shaping what they focus on and how they approach it, both during session and over time. They learn to set goals, track their progress, and take more ownership of their learning journey. this fosters motivation, accountability, and the ability to learn effectively across any subject.
Communication & Peer Support
In our sessions, students build the confidence to speak up, ask for help, and explain their thinking not just to the facilitator, but to each other. This strengthens their communications skills, reinforces the idea that learning is social, and builds a community of peers who learn together, not alone.

Why Study Skills Matter More Than Ever
Study skills are transferable so they help students succeed in every subject, not the one they’re struggling with now.
And they are future-proof. Long after they leave the classroom, student will need to:
That’s why learning how to study isn’t something students should have to figure out alone, it’s something they deserve to be taught.
And this is why we believe study skills aren’t extra, they’re essential.
